About me

Okay, so I’m a copywriter.  But…who am I, really?

Well like many people say, “I’m just an old-fashioned, small town ordinary guy,”. But I’ll add that I’m an ordinary guy who’s learned to do EXTRAORDINARY things by watching EXTRAORDINARY people.

I was born and grew up in South Bend, IN (Notre Dame country), but my parents were farmers from Arkansas where they grew everything they ate. They often told me, “If it ain’t in the cupboard, it won’t get to the table!”.  That home-grown attitude really stuck with me.  I believe it's the “little things of life" that make a big difference.

3 Things That Are Dear To Me

I love great conversation…so much so I prefer to listen and talk rather than sleep or eat.  I thrive on enabling others to go beyond boundaries...like, “What can I help YOU do today?”

I love the outdoors--fishing for bass, crappie and bluegill. When I’m in my backyard - away from sirens and other noises of the city, where I can hear the babbling brook and smell honeysuckle - that’s when some of my best ideas are born!

I love music – singing, writing songs, playing guitar. My guitar faves-- Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Larry Carlton, Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Heck, back in the day my band, Simba, opened for the Ike & Tina Turner Revue! (Yeah…that was me in the middle)

Constant Learning Is My Key

Learning new things is my claim to fame. I attended Indiana University – yep, I’m an old Bobby Knight fan, and an Isaiah Thomas comrade!

People close to me tell me I have an exploratory disposition. By the time I was 25 years old I had worked in 25 different professions! Does that mean I’m an out-of-the-box thinker – maybe a visionary on steroids?

Oh...I'm Extremely Picky

Remember how I referenced my parents earlier, saying “If it ain’t in the cupboard, it won’t get to the table!”?   That is exactly why today I won’t use commonplace, everyday phrases for your copy. Good enough just ain’t good enough. It must be home-grown. It has to pop, pop, POP!  Everything I’m challenged with makes this ordinary guy sharper and better!

Your Company Is Extraordinary

It is impossible for me to know too much about you, your company, your products and services and – most importantly, about your ideal customer. The more I find out about what makes your company great, the better I can write for you.

So… When can we START TALKING?
